Why do limits matter?
Not having limits might sound sexy. You might feel like, “If I don’t have limits, it will make me more interesting and more people will want to engage with me.” Here is why I encourage you to discover what your limits are-and respect the limits of others. When you don’t have limits, think of a road map that has a destination but the way to get there is overgrown at key points in the path with wildlife and broken trees. Each time you drive your jeep down the road to get to your destination, a route down the path is blocked-or you come across a surprise that stops you from reaching your goal, slowing you down. Think of having limits as a key part of mapping out the route that will provide you the best time ever with the provider you have chosen. Limits are clear paths and routes that will get you to your final destination-one of feeling satisfied, elated, content, liberated, relaxed and valued-or whatever you have decided that is most important for you to feel. You give the person working with you a clear understanding of who you are and how to navigate your mind. And that is essential for having a fulfilling session.
